When an academic year comes to an end, all the teachers in the world take a moment and sit back and breathe a deep sigh of relief… Phew!!! What a year it was!! They are almost happy for a day or two. And then the withdrawal symptoms kick in. I know for a fact, that’s  how my team of facilitators is also feeling.

We started last year with Summer camps – Between inculcating leadership classes for a bunch of giggling teenagers to conducting Shadow theatre workshops for a bunch of naughty toddlers, the Happy Cow team had a ball. Here’s a look at the year that was.Collage 1.jpg

One of our fun projects during Summer Camp was the one where we did a Play creation workshop with a bunch of kids at Mahindra Research Valley as part of their CSR activity. The Housekeeping staff’s children are taught English through the year by the Mahindra team as part of their CSR and we did a play with them keeping in mind what was taught. And it was so much fun! The kids learned, enjoyed and performed brilliantly – We even got a standing ovation :)

And then, the schools opened! And so did the Year Long Curriculum for us. We kick-started our workshops at Canopo International  – Developing Cognitive Skills through different methods of Theatre forms. The end result was a beautiful hand Puppets showcase by the kids on their annual day. NPS in Bangalore was another Year long project for us – Barring the last minute drop outs cos of Malaria and Jaundice, we did put up a beautiful showcase for the parents and and man were they proud.

Then Boom! We opened our account in Kochi at JTPac – Choice school. Month after month, conducting Speech and Drama curriculum, Life Skills through Theatre workshops. Personally I was in awe of the star of the final play – 5 year old Peggy, the Pirate. It was so inspiring to see the little one on stage rattling off the dialogues with so much confidence and happiness Collage 3.jpg

We also did a series of Storioriory (Story Telling workshops) for the kids undergoing medical treatment at the palliative care unit at the Cancer Institute. The Happy Cow team had a ball of time doing clowning workshops and spinning different tales each time.Collage 4.jpg

Another fun project was conducting Leadership through theatre workshops for a bunch of teenagers who signed up for a fun trip to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. We partnered with Levart – A Travel Company providing fun solutions for School excursions. Between making tribal masks and scuba diving, we were able to get some theatre lessons in too Collage5.jpg
And of course, the short term workshops were a different ballgame on its own. Series of 3 months and 5 months workshops at different centres in Chennai and Bangalore.Collage6.jpg

To celebrate the end of the year – the entire happy cow team got together to have a mini training session/ feedback session and also bonded over Biryani sharing workshop stories and wonderful experiences. And now, we gear up for another fun year. f434e056-7d05-4cb9-b73c-bfb9e8d940ae.jpg
